What our own research says about each strategy family
We ran roughly 3.5 million backtests and published the failures alongside the one result that survived. These verdicts apply to the strategy families you can run here, and none of them is a forecast.
- Funding fade — the only edge we ratified. Fading extreme perpetual funding on BTC and ETH cleared realistic costs out-of-sample (pooled t = 3.36). It needs a perpetual futures market, so it does not apply to spot-only assets.
- Price-indicator strategies — no configuration we tested survived rolling multi-fold walk-forward validation. Single flattering backtests are exactly what walk-forward is there to catch.
- Grid — weak. It did not clear our ratified-edge bar in testing. It remains available as a tool, not as a validated edge.
- Donchian breakout — unratified. Implemented and testable, never validated as an edge.
- Market making — failed. The raw edge was negative before a single fee was paid.
- Drawdown Shield — a trend filter plus volatility targeting cut maximum drawdown by roughly 35-40% in backtests. It is a risk tool, it is backtest-only today, and it is not an alpha claim.
